AiR Bornholm – Open Workshops
A collaborative effort involving Bornholm’s open workshops which offer Artist-in-Residence programmes for periods of varying length. The facilities are designed for professional craft artists who work independently.
Bornholm’s open workshops: Svanekegaarden in Svaneke, which has a ceramics workshop; Møbelfabrikken in Nexø, which hires out workshops for the making of glass and ceramic art; and Tryk2 in Aakirkeby, which hires out facilities for printing.
Bornholm – the island of craft art
The island has been attracting artists and craft artists for over a century, and a large number of craft artists, working with a wide variety of materials, now live here.
AiR Bornholm makes it possible for visiting artists and craft artists from Denmark and abroad to visit and work in this unique environment.

The workshop facility comprises a large, bright, rustically furnished room, laid out as two fine workshop spaces for making studio ceramics.
In addition, there is a small woodfired African kiln outside.
Self-contained apartments, a lovely large garden and a generous exhibition space with changing exhibitions are also associated with the ceramics workshop.
